Anyone running spacers in the FRONT and Back?

Anyone running spacers in the front and back?

I kinda want all my tires to sit at the same place, lined up, on the outside...

I want to get the CSL reps in 19x8.5 ET40 front and 19x9.5 ET45 rear with 10mm spacers....

Any thoughts? Rubbing issues?

Your fronts already look pretty spaced out in comparison to your rear. Believe it or not, the car is actually pretty balanced with the front and rear track, but the body lines look like the front is more pushed out, and the rear tucked...

I crtainly would not use psacers on the front for many reasons. There are some pretty high stresses on your front wheels. I would not feel comfortable messing with the geometry of the way those wheels work. The rears should not be a problem...

Proper Wheel Offset

You seem to be the only one in this forum who has correctly selected the correct wheel offset (at lease close to it and you don’t need spacers). Moving the wheels anymore than 5/16" out board from the stock baseline really does have a very major impact of the car suspension and handling traits!!!!!!!! Not only will you get bump steer but a very uneasy feeling going into coners. It is really disappointing to see several of the supporting vendors are blind to this fact although they do state this on their web site.


When you are selecting a wheel set you should not only consider the rim in your offset calculation but also the tire section width as mounted of a given rim size. The goal here is to get a baseline on the position of the contact patch in relation to the suspension more than anything else.

e.g. Selected tires: Yokahama Advan Sport 265/30x19 and 235/35x19:

Front Tires: Outboard 0.33" over stock position 8x19

Rear Tires: Outboard 0.35" over stock position 9x19

e.g. Selected tires: Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS 275/30x19 and 245/35x19:

Front Tires: Outboard 0.33" over stock position 8x19

Rear Tires: Outboard 0.35" over stock position 9x19

don't put spacers in the front!! I've tried doing that with a 5mm spacers, and the steering went all light and was vibrating at highway speeds

but back spacers are fine, get like 12 or 15mm with et45 in the back should be fine, im running 12mm right now

tire rack says with 9.5 ET45, I will be 5mm wider than my stock ZSP 18's, if I add a 10mm spacer i will be 15mm wider than stock. that should be wide enough... any wider and it might get too far? or would 20mm wider than stock (i.e. 15mm spacer) be good?

hmmmmmmmm i want to get this right on the 1st go around!

Ok with CSL reps, 8.5 ET40, 9.5 ET45 rear here are various setups:

FRONT Spacer Options:
NONE - 12mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will extend to THE SAME point as the stock wheel

5mm - 7mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 5mm

10mm - 2mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 10mm


REAR Spacer Options:
NONE - 21mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 5mm

10mm - 11mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 15mm

15mm - 6mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 20mm

I am thinking about adding 5mm front and 10mm rear... any thoughts?

I really want someone who has knowledge to talk to. If you can't answer, at least refer me to someone!

I would not out anything less than a 12mm spacer on the front or rear. Search around and you will see that its not that safe to do.

tons of people run 10mm spacers on the rear... why is that bad?

because the spacer can crack and break as its too small. I forget who it was but someone on here was autocrossing the car and the wheel fell off because of the spacer so for me its not worth that risk.
