Greetings and Salutation from a Beamer Newbie

Hi all,

Stumbled on to this forum and its great to see many Australian owners so active.

Just bought a 2007 320d for the wife while i work on getting the 123d Convertible for myself thats coming out in a couple of weeks.

Have a few noob questions i hope someone can answer. Tried to surch the forums but no luck so any response is appreciated.

1. The 320d has the old GPS system where they don't show the maps but just directions. I think its called radio navigation. Now if i put the latest version of the disk in there will it have maps displayed or will it still be the old navigation. ie. I want it to be like the normal GPS maps where you see the streets and where you are on the map etc.

2. Interested in putting an intake system to the car. Any recommendations on brand and place to buy in Melbourne?

3. Thinking of putting a nav2video or one of those LSD mods to take advatage of the current LCD screen to allow me to have multimedia inputs including iphone capabilities.

Thanks in advance.

cheers

Smeags.

Hi Smeags,

Us newbies have to stick together.

I don't think the new nav software will work with the old hardware, I think it is mentioned on the forum somewhere...I'll have a look.

Here is a link;

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ght=update+nav

I think this should help with #1 & #3. You can also try a search with 'update nav' to find others but do it on the whole forum not just the Aussie bit to get more hits.

Don't know the answer to #2 as I am not mechanically minded.

Hope this helps...
