Hi guys I just got my 335i and the dealership had put rain-x on my windshield but I herd that it's supposed to repel the water off in my car the water just lays on the windshield...How could I remove this from my windshield?

Yeah, some people like it but I hate it, it also makes your wipers less effective in light rain IMO. Removing it? Don't know, sorry...maybe you just have to wait it out?

Apparently lighter-fluid will remove it.

Quote:
Wash you winshield with lighter fluid. Put the fluid on and let it dwell for a few minutes to break the silicone bond. Then wash it with an all purpose cleaner like 409 or Fantastic. Flush the winshield with plenty of water and finish up with your favorite glass cleaner.

No more Rain-X.

You could probably just wipe your glass down with some isopropyl alcohol and water and it should remove the rain-x. Follow up with a glass cleaner and you should be good to do.

I am one of those Rain-X "haters". After I tried it and regretted it, I cleaned my windshield with gasoline and newspaper...that'll take ANYTHING off, it worked instantly and I had my nice windshield again.

+1 for iso, vinegar might also work too.
