That is pretty awesome, I'm defiantly thinking of trying something like that. I really want a hidden detector (the remote display isn't enough if you still have a detector hanging off your windshield.

Question being, in a E92, will some ones fat head sitting in the back block a radar signal? It sucks losing the laser detection, even if it's usually too late, its nice to know what speed you were going when you got pegged before talking to the cop.

Also, if you got a small transparent window for the headrest, would it not matter as its location is in the back and very unlikely to be hit by the actual laser?

If you want to get a real protection from a laser gun, you should get Laser Interceptor system, which is the best on the market as of today and can be linked to V1 as well. Kind of like Escort 9500ci/xi but better

Think this way ... When you are driving and V1 alerts you, most of the time you don't see the cop for the next minute or so (unless he is right there and your V1 failed to alert you) ... That means that signal that V1 is sending can go through all the cars in front of you and all other stuff that might be on the way ... So, you should be fine if someone is sitting on the back of your car ...

Yeah but a cop knows when he is getting jammed, they wont be very pleasant, especially if they know its illegal, not worth the trouble for me!

^^ there is a technique to it. You jam the signal until you are at a legal speed, then turn the jammer off so they get a reading. That way the 'malfunction' can be attributed to unknown reasons.

If you would be able to get a hold of a jamming gun and play with it, you will see that if you hit a lamp post your readings will be 0 ... There are many things that create interference and there is no way to prove that it was you and not something else ... Plus LI is a smart little computer that you can program it the way you like it ... it can shut off after 5 sec. of jamming ( if you got hit), so you don't even have to do anything ...

And if you are going very fast and cop hits you your are in trouble anyway ... With LI you might save yourself a point on your record ...

The bottom line is, if you want to to be on the safe side, drive within speed limit ...

For places where radar detectors are frowned upon mounting it behind the glass tends to work better, just add a kill switch and it disappears altogether when you switch it off.
