VRS Bootlid FYI

Guys- Just a general comment for everyone. I've had my VRS rear decklid on for about a year now (single sided cf). Last week my car was at the dealership for some warranty repairs and tropical storm ida's remains blew through town while my car was outside. My stereo amp is now fried and obviously not covered under warranty due to high wind / rain. When I installed my decklid, I fitted it for all of the cosmetic lines / gaps, but never considered the weatherstripping not sealing correctly. Do yourself a favor and make sure your decklid seals completely. I was quoted $1800 to replace the amp, reprogram the car, and seal the trunk. I have other plans in place to cut that cost by 2/3, but it's an expensive repair you would rather avoid. This is not a bashing of VRS persay, but hopefully it won't happen to anyone else!

Really appreciate the post, planning on buying a VRS csl trunk very soon and reading helpful posts like this really allows people like myself to know the right questions to ask and get the job done right
