BOV keeps slipping
Hey guys sorry if this is a repost.
I have a HKS SSQV BOV and have installed it once without any problems of it slipping off the throttle body or anything but had to take it off for a service. Since then, I have tried to re-install it but it keeps slipping. I am well aware that this is a known problem with the 335s. I was wondering if anyone has found a way of keeping the BOV from slipping off of the throttle body. Any help is greatly appreciated.

hey I have the same one, when you say throttle body do you mean the pipe that the bov attaches to? It keeps falling off of that? Do you have the ring clip secured?

What charge pipe do you have? So you're saying that you have a silicone hose connecting the throttle body to the charge pipe?
Honestly, I've heard more stories of the charge pipe popping off the IC pipe than the throttle body......... I've had that happen with my AA BOV, and I guess Stett also has a signature designed silicone hose connector for the throttle body side, I believe it has a notch inside the silicone hose that sets around the throttle body to prevent slippage from happening.

Like i stated already use t-bolt clamps. Both my Evo,s had the same problem, the hose popping off the throttle body which sounded like a shotgun blast while driving when it happened. As soon as i switched to T-bolt clamps (on every connection where there was a clamp) i never had a hose or intercooler pipe or anything else come loose or pop off again.

First get a OCC if not the oil is just gonna build up again and make it slip right off once more. Second get yourself some T bolt clamps they are alot stronger than worm clamps and will help hold the coupler onto the throttle body better.

thanks guys. I will try the t-bolt clamps and degrease the couplers.
I don't really want to shed money on an OCC at the moment unless its totally necessary and it seems like people have had luck with just t-bolt clamps so I will try that first
