Time to replace tires - 07' 335i

I managed to get 30,000 miles out of the original Bridgestone RFT's. I need to replace them but i am having a hard time choosing my next set. I don't really want to go with another set of RFT's. My wife drives the car and doesn't really push it hard at all. Anyone have an opinion about the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 sport. They are relatively cheap...or should i just spend the extra money and go with the michellin PS2 or something else. Its for a 07 335i. 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear.

Thanks

Feedback here and from Gary @ tirerack is that the RE760 is a good tire for the E90. I'm considering going with those when my BS are gone (especially since the Michelin PS2 ZP is not avail in my size - are you listening Michelin..) I already have a mobility kit, so I'm set if I go non-runflat.

Do a search on RE760 here, and read the feedback on Tirerack for that tire.

I bought Hankook Ventus Evo 12s and love them. Excellent grip in the dry and outstanding grip in the wet. Quiet, compliant, and feel good when driving. I pumped mine up to 40-42 psi to keep the sharp turn in and they still ride and grip better than the RFTs.

All four installed with tire warranty etc was about $775. Search the forums. Others are also very happy with them.

BTW, tread wear is 280 so they'll last longer than some others.

Tire Rack rep, and Car and Driver, also suggested Dunlop Direzzas Sport Z1 Stars for my E92.

Looks good to me, more aggressive and better reviews than the Hankook without pumping to 42psi (stiffer sidewalls)!

Something to consider?

Direzzas were also on my list. I iwent with the 'kooks because of the 280 treadwear vs the 200 treadwear for the Direzzas. Both seem to be excellent tires for a fraction of the cost of PS2s.

Good point.
I can't find any record of how long these tires last on our cars.
200 or 280 treadwear.

^The Direzzas scored worse for road noise than the Kooks (if I recall), plus the tread pattern and the lower wear rating will equal more noise sooner which I don't the wife will be a fan of. I've got a set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evos on my 750i. Very nice tire.

If you are looking for something that will last a while, has great wet grip, and is ultra quiet I suggest the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. I've got them on my e92 and love them. My review: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=302424

2nd on the Continental DWS. My Mother In Law put them on her 10 year old 5 series a month ago and I got a set a week ago after flatting my Continental runflat.

The Continental runflat was a decent tire and I would get them again if I stayed with runflats. The non-runflat provides an improved ride quality in my opinion.

I agree the Continental ExtremeContact DWS are a great tire. I went from PS-2's to the DWS's and I am totally happy with them. They have 95% of the PS-2's traction, very quiet, 1/2 the cost of the PS-2's and a tread wear rating of 540.
