Exclamation SOS Warning Light (after Clarion deck install)

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if there's anyone out there that can help me with a situation.

I have a 2008 BMW 335i with Logic-7 (non I-drive) and I recently installed a 7-inch Clarion flip-out (single din). Now I have a problem, the SOS warning light on the dash is constantly on, however, it still does work. I know it works because I pressed it on purpose just to test it out.

I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of this warning light without having to go to the dealership because I know they'll say its because of the deck.

On a side note, I know that the deck doesn't void warranty because I asked a representative at the dealership and he said no it doesn't.

Can anyone please help me with this?

Thanks,
Brandon

Yes. We ran new speaker wire from the OEM amp to the front of the after market deck.

Try unplugging the TCU in the trunk.

Alright, I'll get those pictures asap.
The only work that was done in the trunk was the obvious power and ground from the after market amp (because there is a subwoofer too) to the battery and then we ran the according wires from the OEM amp to the front of the car. The REM wire is running down one side of the car opposite of the RCA's so there's no noise interferance..

This may be a stupid question Technic, but what is the TCU?

TCU stands for telematic control unit. It's located in the trunk. You have to remove the trunk carpet and you will see it.

Oh no, we didn't touch either of those modules.
The only work that was done in the trunk was running speaker wire (Monster home theater HD wire) from the OEM amp wires. We took out the harness from the OEM amp and connected speaker wire from there.

I don't have the module on the left of the pic, I do have the one on the right, however.

the factory head unit is the most bus controller.

If you relocate the stock radio to the trunk...

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319976

and extend the optical wires, that will make the sos light go away.

You need:
