VK OC w/ STETT FMIC

Hey,
This past weekend I drove home from school (Rochester, NY to Jersey, 5 hours) and did my first long term test of my STETT FMIC along with the VK Oil Cooler I've been running. I don't know if it's possible for an engine to be too cool but damn this combo comes close. The whole trip (cruising at 74, 65 degree ambient temps) my car read a solid 200 degrees. Even when pushing the car when I got closer to my house the car never topped 210. I thought the VK OC was enough, and then I saw what the IC did. I used to see 260-270 on the highway, 310 (limp) on the track. With the VK OC I dropped down to 230 highway, 250 track. I haven't gotten this combo onto the track yet but I would bet I won't see 230.

If you're looking to drop engine temps, pick these two up. Great work VK and great work STETT!

-Dave

I'm just curious with what oil you are running.

It's right here:

Mine did quite well from Austin to Dallas, until I hit bumper to bumper traffic.

I am back to the stock 5W30 oil now as I brought the car in recently to get my clutch replaced.

My XI did not come with an oil cooler. I was limping on track and got the dealer to put in the OEM cooler. The OEM cooler did next to nothing. The VK let me do an hour and a half hot session with no issue whatsoever. I can't even imagine what my car can do now. Next thing I need is a piggyback!

Agree to the OP - I use a Code3/Spearco FMIC and the VKM OC. Temps are much cooler compared to stock.
