Tints - Anyone familiar with the companies?

Hello,

I live in the St. Louis area in Missouri, and I'm looking to get my car tinted. I was just wondering if any of you had experience with any companies in the area...(just wanted to check before I randomly pick one and go with it..)

I've looked up some of the tints, and what do you guys recommend in general? I know metallic tints are a no, and I THINK I want 3M one, but not sure.

I want 35% tints (20% is illegal in Missouri, and I don't really want to have issues with it...and my interior is black, so 35% should be fine).

Basically, I want nice tints, preferably something affordable, but why do people get expensive tints? What do you get for paying extra?

Thanks!

might have better luck in the regional areas as far as tint shops go.

there are basically two things you pay for in tinting... the film itself and the service. some places cost more because they have like life time guarentee of no bubbling or whatever. in addition, you may pay more because the tinter is more experienced. the price of tint also can make the job more expensive. huper optik is a thick full ceramic tint, and if your doing back 7 windows, it could easily go up to 500$ if not more.

you don't really pay extra. your paying for the quality. some people pay 200$ for a perfectly fine tint job, and that may be because of the area's competitive pricing or maybe they might be using a cheaper tinting film.

if you know what kind of film you want, just ask in the regional forums of shops carrying that film or look online.

So what film of tint is the "best"? (I'm not familiar with any of the tint films, so I have no idea what the pros and cons are...)

It's all subjective... but the consensus is generally Huper Optik, Pinnacle Formula One, and Madico ceramic.
