Dumb question... what does LCI stand for? I've seen it as the indicator for the mid-program model updates on our cars.

haha i'm new to bmw too so i had to look it up. it's the term used to describe a mid-model refresh for bmw's. the actual term is Life Cycle Impulse. stupid name, imo.

if it's just electrical that would be great, but i fear they will change the shape of the lights (and thus, the bumpers, etc.)

True. Another interesting thing is that the front headlight unit doesn't seemed changed. That is, assuming refreshed models would be using a LED cluster similar to that of the E90 LCI's.

yeah, i'm curious if the e92 headlights and taillights will be different than the m3 e92 headlights and taillights. and if they are, that would be a departure from the norm. if they are not, we'd better start putting in orders for swaps

If the fit is the same and all that is required is a minor electrical mod I would be in for a led tail light swap.
How about the e90's can you do a direct swap with pre and post lci? |

I just hope they wont fuck it up like they did in e90s. I love e92 current leds. Those are awesome.
Pre E90 leds, taillight shape i never liked them and never will (no offence) New LCI e90 tails are awesome. Turning signals look amazing, shape is da best. Yet those leds aren't that great because instead of making them like in Current e92 where Break Light is on top and leds are by itself, they put the freaking break light right behind the led in e90 lci. Which I really pisses me off. When u stop u cant see the leds and when you driving the leds arent that visibles due to the space behind it. BMW did a nice job on New 5, 7 seres too but they had to fuk up the sedan. Here is wat im talking about. my pics. Not only u see the leds but u also see the glow from them inside the light. Wish there was no glow but just the leds.

^ Same, bro. I mean, I love my LCI tails... I just wished it only showed the double strip LED conductors, and no glow within the actual housing. There's nothing like seeing that long horizontal strip of 3 small lines and knowing instantly it's an E92.
