Nitto 555s or Toyo T1Rs...........
Anyone running the Nitto 555s or T1Rs ?
I'm going to be looking for 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tires really soon. The last 4-5 sets of tires I've had on cars we're the Mich PS2s. I LOVE them and they do make em in this size, was juts thinking about trying something else and looking to save some coin for other mods. Anyone running the Nitto 555s in this size ? What are your impressions ? What do you think they weigh or do you know the weight ? Their site doesn't list it and that would certainly be a factor. How bout the T1Rs ? they've been out for a bit now and I know I'd drop a few lbs going to these tires. How is the ride comfort and more importantly GRIP ? Any tramlining from the tread pattern on either of these tires? I hate that and the PS2s won't waver a bit. Thanks for the thoughts, kj |

Kinda have a bad taste in my mouth with Falken.
got a really bad set of ST115s that almost pulled my car off the road. I'm not even shitting..... they we're MESSED UP..... And, they(452s) are heavier than my 18" RFTS ! Not wanting to ADD weight, especially at the outside of the wheel. Less rotating mass is better. PS2s, T1RS and Conti 3s are all lighter than my 18" RFTs, even in 19" form. The new Contis don't have a 265/30/19 sizing though, so they're out. I'm betting I'll just end up spending the coin on the PS2s as they have the best weight/drip grip/wet grip ratio....... but the cost ? ouch...... And to think I've bought 4 sets of these over the past 2 years too..... kj |

I had the 555s on my 02" M3. Overall grip on dry was good with excellent wear all around. Turn-in and response came up short for my liking. Never had the chance to test them in heavy rain but they do handle well on wet surfaces. For the price though they are damn good tires!

I had nitto nt555s on my E46 and now on my E90. I've never tracked my cars, but I've never been disappointed while driving spirited. Tire wear is excellent. I've driven on my initial set of Nittos for three summers. You also cant beat the rim/curb protection.
Plus they look sweet: |

Aren't the T1R's substantially heavier than the PS2s? By like 2-3lbs a piece? I was really bummed that the new CS3 doesn't come in 265/30. I liked my CS2s quite a bit ... but never really put substantial mileage on them either. Can you give me any more info on the PS2? I'm about to order a set tomorrow. |

no, the T1Rs are almost the same weight.
I had two sets of PS2s on my Audi's and LOVED them. Put a set on my e46 ZHP and LOVED them. I really want them again, but just wanna try something different and also save some $$$ this time around for other things. You will NOT dislike the PS2s in anyway. The sidewall is a bit softer than most, but turn in is still crisp and the ride comfort is great and grip is matched with the best and they are lightest in the bunch. Overall, the best tire in imho, but also one of the priciest as well. I was going to go CS3 as well, but alas, like you said, no 265/30..... bummer..... kj |
