I used ONR to wash my car when it was 40 degrees on Saturday. Worked pretty well!

For someone like me that always wants a clean car, but doesn't want to wash it with a hose every other day in cold weather, ONR is a lifesaver.

Close to the bottom of it, there is a faucet for draining sediment. Hook garden hose to it, open the faucet for 10 minutes (if you never do this to get rid of the sediment after that only a couple of minutes before washing your car) then it'll be 90-100 F degree water all you want (not scalding hot). I only use it for rinsing off, still use warm soapy water in the bucket. I polished my car last spring using Flex 3401, Menz PO85RD and not a single swirl using this washing method (after 4-5 washes). I don;t like ONR for really dirty car like after driving in drizly day like in Seattle ![]() |

ONR is decent just make sure you have a fresh layer of wax on before you use it. im not a hundred percent satisfied with using just ONR to wash a car. i think it does add some fine scratches if the car is really dirty. also make sure you use a Grit Guard if you do use ONR. ONR is very versatile i just dont think its the end all say all in washing a car. i wouldnt use it if the winters in newengland werent as cold as they are and we could have the outside water on at all times. 50 degrees isnt to cold to wash it so if you hve access to a hose def. use it.

ONR and warm water is my wash method all winter long.
twinturboa51 - do yourself a favor and buy a big spray bottle or two. You can mist/soak the panels with your ONR solution before you do them. Also, consider a Lowe's grout sponge if you aren't using one now. Finally, if it's really grimy, you might want to drive through a gas station spray wash before doing the ONR. The nice thing about them is they can also spray your undercarriage. The bad thing is the soap they use is so harsh, it shortens the life of your LSP. And I have to pile on to bmwowner619: 50 degress?! Give me a break, Mr. San Diego. ![]() ![]()

I would think your bigger problem is 6 p.m. (dark) and not the water/air temp. If your hands give you a problem, get some of the thin surfing gloves to help with the cold hands.
And forget those NE-ers, they're just jealous that we don't need to wash salt off our cars ; ) ~~~ Best regards, Wede |

Read here and at autopia.org about how to use ONR prior to using it the first time. Good luck and enjoy!
