BWM Tire Warranty Experiences?
I am wondering what anyone elses experience with the BMW tire warranty is? Any problems with claims, etc?
I ask because my parents just took in their 330xi with a RFT warning, turns out 1 tire had a nail in it, 1 tire had a bulge in it, and 2 tires were fine. BMW replaced the 2 tires with problems (although they tried to get out of the bulge one), but made my parents replace the other 2 tires at my parents cost. If you replace a tire or tires on an XI model, do you have to replace all the tires as to prevent the DSC and DTC from not operating correctly?

if there was less than a certain amount of tread left, then it would be prudent to replace all as having mixed tread would be dangerous. How many km on the tires?

I bought the tire insurance as well -- my dealer slyly told me that if I had to replace a tire w/ a nail in it but my other tires were "too worn" I would have to replace them at my own cost..."or find 3 more nails"

I also asked my dealer to clarify this, and she said that they'd only replace the damaged tire, so it would be up to me to replace the rest.
That's one of the reasons I turned this down. I also dont want to keep the summer tires on there since I'm in Seattle, and can find better tires that will last longer for less money, although they wont be RFT's. I cant wait!

i just had 1 of the rear tire replaced under a wheel/tire warranty. they tried to make me pay $48 for some fee i don't remember, but i told them that i was told that i won't have to pay a penny when i have this warranty, and i got away w/ it. my car was at 3400 miles, they didn't mention anything about replacing the other tire as well, do i need to replace it though? the moment i drove out the lot w/ the new tire, i felt totally different on the drivetrain. the steering wheel didn't feel as solid, and the kinda-bad roads are pulling me left and right. could it really be the tread difference in the rear tires or they didn't balance my wheel right??

They made you replace the others to offset the cost of the 2 they had to replace. Basically you really paid for all 4.
