Are these all the options for ipod integration?
Shows up on idrive, steering wheel control
1. dension gateway 500, ~$425, browsable but shows up as CD changer 2. eas integration kit, ~299, seems exactly same as dension 3. dealer install No steering wheel control, no idrive 4. monster cable/line out etc to aux in/cig adapter My questions: - are there other options for showing up on idrive? (I don't have USB in glovebox or middle) - How does dealer ipod integration compare to this stuff, or is it exactly the same? - Is it true that dealer install is different and not as nice as factory install? Thanks guys, I've been reading for days trying to find out what options I have.. |

Dealer ipod installs into the glove box and has an ipod connector on it. Its not the same as the USB factory option. You can have the wire moved to your center console. You have full control of your ipod w/ idrive. Steering wheel controls work.
Its about 250 or so for the parts and then you have to have the car programed by dealership. That price is variable.

The mObridge kits are faster, stable and support USB charging (all current iPods/iPhone 3G/3GS/touch), these are pretty much top of the line when it comes to iPod integration.

The Mobridge and BMW kits offer pretty much the same functionality. The main different is the price and the bmw kit has some limitiations that are not present in the mobridge kit. I have the BMW kit and it works perfectly.
