I just got the PROcede Rev. II CANbus PnP. Does anyone have a clean installation video on how to install this? I've seen videos on youtube for the old one.
Thanks |

one thing you might wanna do while you're in there, is buy a serial to USB cable, and run it through the hole in the ecu box into the glove compartment. I would suggest first pushing a stiff gauge wire through the hole ecu side, and pulling it through under the glove box. Then coil it around the usb head, and pull it through into the cabin. in-cabin procede/datalogging goodness woot!
oh and since we have DTC mapswitching now, you don't need to worry about that remote map switcher thingy |

Thanks Shochu75, I almost forgot about that. I did see that video prior to my post, so thats why I posted this up. Cause after searching the posts, people mention disconnecting the battery, which i didn't see in the video.

1. You'll want a T20 torx bit (not T8 as noted in the guide) to remove the screws on the panel underneath the glove box. 2. If you are in the market for a DB9 (serial port) to USB cable, they are far cheaper on Ebay than the $39 Radio Shack cable (Vishnu's recommendation). I used this 3' cable and a 3' USB extension cable like this. $5.77 shipped to your door; took about 4 days to arrive. |

Damn I wish I knew this. I have the cable sitting in the side of the ecu. Was wondering how to route the cable to the glove box. I lasted 4 hrs last night installing it. I broke the clips that hold the air filter, broke the clip that holds the power orange cable, broke the green plastic thats on the power connector. DAMN im pissed. I haven't slept. But took the car for a run afterwards this morning, and damn it pulls hard. Feels like i'm using race gas. One thing that it doesn't do, is that when I press DTC over 3000rpm, it doesn't seem to change maps. Why?
Also, Any way of getting the usb cable to globe box without opening the ecu again? |

"press the DTC over 3000rpm"??
To change maps you need to "double click" the dtc button. one flash of the SES light for map 1, two flashes for map 2, and one long flash for valet mode. It cycles through the three maps with each "double click". Unless you're running catless w/intake and fmic, I wouldn't suggest using any map other than map 1. look at Shiv's notes about map 2. I'm assuming you're on firmware 145 and 11-2 maps. also, no way of getting usb cable through to glove box without opening the ecu box. here's a link to Vishnu's forum for how-to videos... http://www.vishnutuningforum.com/for...isplay.php?f=7 lotta good info in there on code clearing, data logging, user adjustables. |

Yea, thats what I meant. When I'm in manual mode, I can't change maps doubling clicking the DTC button. Is this a safety issue or is this just me?
Can you change maps at any rpm? |

hmm not sure, I have a 6mt... personally I'm not too keen on "on the fly" map switching, so if I do decide to change maps I do it while I'm stopped or with the engine off and electronics and fuel pump on.

Now I'm curious if is bad to do this on the fly. I like changing to Map 2 entering the highway.
