Stock BMW BOV
Hey Guys,
Ok I got a 2007 335i coupe about a week ago, and the next day I took off the hose to the stock blow off valve and I was wondering if this is a bad thing or a good thing. I love the noise it makes when i shift gears but my main concern is if it will mess my engine up. Oh and my car is automatic if it makes a difference. Thanks. |

I'm unsure which hose you are referring too but put it back.
We don't have BOV's either.

As long as you plug the ends on the intake pipe it shouldn't hurt anything.

Actually it will make your car run slightly more rich in-between shifts since the fuel mapping is putting more fuel in to make up for that extra air that is now vented. It won't hurt anything but it does have an affect none the less.

actually n54 uses a MAP sensor which measures the air after the diverters(or BOV.... depends on what you have)..... the only effect venting atmosphere would have is if recirculating the vent somehow spooled the turbo between shifts reducing any possible lag ..... but we have small turbos so lag isnt an issue past 2K.... so no effect........ car with MAF would have a problem being that the air is measured then compressed through the turbo and since vent occurs after turbo the vent would then have to be recirculated..... or modified to account for vent
