Service indicator
For the last 2 years I have pretty much been driving the 335d every day, 50 mile round trips. In the last two months we have moved house and the car sometimes sits in the garage for a week at a time without being driven. Ive noticed that the last couple of times when I first press the power button the Service word pops up but with no "mileage remaining" message. I know that it only got serviced 5000 miles ago (around 6 months) and that prior to its resting period I had at least 11000 miles left - hence thinking that this figure should be roughly the same, or 1k less..
Does anyone know why its not telling me remaining miles? Im sure that if I "reboot" the car once its been driven for a few miles it comes up with the mileage to go - just not the first time since resting.. Is it a quirk, does it really need a service now? |

put your key into the ignition but dont start it up, just let it switch on the display. leave it for say about a minute max about 2 and see if any message or warning sound comes on..

The service you're getting has a date accompanied to it not a certain mileage. Use the part on the indicator stork where you can select what services you need. Press the BC button and scroll through the service, you'll find it. Does it say service with a car and in yellow? If so that's the issue.

figured it out. Ive gone past the year since the last service, so at the bottom of the screen 11/2009 appeared whilst the red "service" message was in the main part of the screen. I just couldnt see the date over the steering wheel!
