Windows - mind of their own!
I was sure I saw a thraed on here about widows going dwn on their own, same as if you had held the 'open' button on the key for 5 secs.
Anyone point me at it, couldn't locate it via the search. Anyway, last night at 4:35 I hear a car alarm. Didn't know it was mine as I've never heard mine before. I ignore it the 1st time (lasts only a few mins) bui the 2nd time I peek out the window and its my car! So, I rush down stairs only to find that all 4 windows are wide open and the rain is getting it, a wee but wind driving it in didn't help. The Alacantra side bolsters were quite wet as were the door handles, switches, etc so I drid it best I could at 4:35am in my jammies and jacket and close the car up. Had to sit on a towel to drive to work today as seats were still damp - bot what I expect to have to do in a new, modern car.... minis of old with leaky window seasl maybe!! Plus, with car all dmap inside when I went to get it after work it was full of watery condensation Cars is going into dealer next Monday, could take sooner but none near me (Edin or Stirling) have a curtosy car sooner than next Monday! Anyone experience this? Know what the issue is or the fix? Thanks

if you double click the open button once the doors are already open the window (on the e92 will drop half way when you open the door.
I think im right in saying that once you open the doors with the fob, then hold the open button down for 5 secs the windows will drop fully.

Whatever the issue is, its a major security risk.... can't go into Edinburgh city centre with car on Friday as I had planned, can't risk parking the car on meter and wondering if the windows have dropped while I'm having lunch.....

Could it be a faulty keyfob? If you pressed the fob when its located in its secure night location, would it be sufficiently close to the car to work?

I have had a similar experience - but luckily not when its rained! I'm pretty sure that the key fob button got pressed (and held down) in my pocket.

Yes. I was cleaning the car the other day, the car was unlocked and I was cleaning the outside.
All 4 windows went down and lots of water and suds went inside! I think the key was in my pocket so assumed I had accidentally pressed something to make it happen?

This time there was no way the kEY was pressed as it was hanging up for 8-9 hours. Anyway, dealer has advsied to bring both keys in to have the checked / reprogrammed as well if need be. I know it was widy that night, but not as windy as it has been. Might have been a stromg gust enough to up-set the security and what-not in the car resulting in a malfunction. Car has been fine since it happened, apart from the fact the damp inside is causing it to condensate up every time I park up!
