Even if it's not snowing summers are affected by temperature. The cheap cost of a winter set up $500-1000 is worth it for peace of mind. I enjoyed driving the e90 with snow tires in bad weather, i felt more comfortable in my rwd bmw than i have driving awd cars with all season tires. Why risk an accident that will cost you much more, or end up having to drive at a snail pace because you don't have proper tires. Seems like a no brainer to me, plus you save wear on your summer tires anyway.

I used my stock sport 18" stagg rims and summer perf RFT bridgestones for two winters, and they have done good, with a tuned/bolt on 335i.

I cant complain. I dont really DD my 335i, but in cold weather/dry and such, the traction WOT from a light isnt great, but it gets the job done in other areas, stops good and turns good!

In rain in the winter, still isnt a problem. Drive in the middle lanes in the highways and such to avoid floods in the rain, as alwasys.

I took it out once in the snow, which isnt a good idea for any RWD 300hp sports car, but it didnt do as bad i expected..

If you have a DD, take it out for the snowy days.

yep, count me in. thankfully my car is a luxury rather than a necessity so i would never take it out in the snow or ice. if it's really cold then extra care will of course be needed.

+1.

But not too sure if it was beacuse my UHPs were literally brand new.. (< 500 miles) on it.

I will change to my 17" snow tires in a couple weeks when I have time..

My honda comes out for the snowy days, no worth all that salt all over the bushing and under the car, its a killer, esp since 99.9% of people wash there car and are proud there is no salt on the paint, but some of the bigger damage is happening under the car.

335i's stay home and the Honda accord takes it for the team.

I will be running summer tires all winter, but like others here I drive my Camry when there is snow on the ground. I found out last weekend that my OEM summer tires are fine for cold winter days, but not the best in snow covered parking lots.
