You definately must.

However, unless you are a skilled mechanic I would get the experts to do it for you, My front struts were a nightmare to get off for two people, all the right tools and pleanty of anti seize compound ( rusted up bolts etc ).

Thers huge potential to hurt yourself and damage the car if you dont know what you are doing.

I agree with Yves, you would need a spring compresor as well for the front struts. They told me they had to drop the rear arms as well to gain access, all this was done on a hanging lifter, much easier to get at everything

Mmmm toyed with the idea of the rear window spoiler, not so keen on the M3 one though. Pass on the beer, but if there was any drams going I might be tempted to help

Looks good now.

BTW, are the rear rear wheels the OEM 19x9 with 255/30 tyres, looks narrower, or is it just the fact that they're on an e90 that make them looked more tucked than on the e92.

Non genuine wheels, I had the dilema when I bought the car to keep the standard 18" with knackered RF tyres and replace with new RF's or replace the wheels and tyres with a package. I plan to change the rears for originals when I can find two at a reasonable price. This is what it looked like on the original wheels

Did my springs on a trolley jack and on my own. The rears can be done in 30 to 40 minutes and are a doddle. One bolt to be removed and the bottom nut off the shock. The fronts are more of a pain due to spring compressors and its tight pulling the shock out from under the wheel arch whilst still attached to the hub without scratching the paint. Did the fronts in a hour and a half each side. Not a difficult job to be honest with basic spannering skills.

Ah, the Pro's take the whole strut out and do the springs on the bench see...More work but the 'right' way to do it.

prefer the standard wheels. Would look ace now dropped on the standard rims. Some spacers would make it look bad boy.

Your right. Compressed the original springs on the car before dropping the strut from the turret - that was tight spannering. Compressed the new spring on the bench before inserting on the strut whilst hanging out 45 degrees out of the wheel arch. As I said 'basic' spannering skills

I am closer to Maclaren childrens buggys than Mclaren F1 (keep taking the skin off my fingers!!)
