i wouldnt say untraceable since i believe even the newest one requires some manipulation of hoses, if they went looking they would find it

Modifying your car doesn't automatically 'void' your warranty. That's just an overstated misconception. Dealers will state that it does; however, most are uninformed about the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act of 1975... or they hoping you don't know about it. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/...s/warranty.htm I have personal experience in this arena. I put an aftermarket stereo in a car and within my warranty period, the HVAC controls died. The dealer stated since I modified the stereo, it voided my warranty and they would not replace ANY electrical component. A call from my attorney to the dealer manager and the HVAC controls were replaced. I had to do this again with a coil pack. Then they tried to state a hole in the intake manifold was not covered because of aftermarket exhaust. Again, they replaced it after a letter from an attorney. Don't let dealers con you into think you have screwed up your warranty |
