Sport Package, 6 Speed auto. Got for about $500 over invoice (before holiday credit). So, I'm assuming I got a pretty good deal.

new 328i
Buy a used one or a used 335, way better investment. I bought a brand new 328 in december 08, love it but would rather have bought a used 335 for the same price. I also saw a used 550i for 36k, Hell of a deal if you ask me!

No, the $1500 did come off my negotiated price. Including the holiday credit, the price was around $900-$1000 below invoice.
Thanks. This is my first BMW, so I'm excited! |

Sorry, mlf. The reason for my earlier post is I too bought a 2010 328i too and only had a brief buyer's remorse when I thought I could've settled for a used/CPO car and taken much less depreciation hit. That remorse varnished the moment I took the first drive, and I'm sure you'll get the same feeling. At least you got a better deal than I did, as I paid $500 over invoice thru and thru. I tried to reap that holiday credit too, but the dealer's finance advisor didn't fall for it.
Welcome to the board and happy cruising. |

Congrats mlf!
No way I would take a used car over a new one for the same $$$. For me, the knowledge that I know everything that has ever happened to the car is important. The 335 with it's potential for HPFP issues is not a better choice in my mind, and I don't see how that could be a better "investment" as no new car (unless it is some exotic) is an "investment". As far as holiday credit goes, it comes off the amount of the purchase financed if you finance through BWMFS. If the program was in effect when you signed the finance papers, then you should get the credit. From the BMWFS website fine print: "Holiday Credit offer is being made by BMW of North America, LLC and only applies to specific new 2009 and 2010 BMW Models leased or financed through BMW Financial Services. Available new 2009 BMW models receiving the credit are: 1 Series, 3 Series (excluding 335d), X3, X5 (excluding X5 xDrive35d) and X6. Available new 2010 models receiving the credit are: 1 Series, 3 Series (excluding 335d), 5 Series (excluding 550i GT), 6 Series, 7 Series, X3, X5 (excluding X5 xDrive35d, X5 M), X6 (excluding X6 ActiveHybrid, X6 M) and Z4. Holiday Credit amounts of either $1,500 or $2,500 are based on model. Holiday Credit must be applied to a Lease, OwnersChoice or Retail Finance contract though BMW Financial Services by January 4, 2010. Holiday Credit is applied directly to the contract, reducing the amount financed and is disclosed as such on the contract. Subject to credit approval."

Thanks guys. I chose Crimson Red with beige interior. I really liked the Alpine White also, but my current car is white, so I really wanted a change.
You are correct on the holiday credit Doug. The $1500 came off the amount that was to be financed. |

Do you mind PM-ing me this list of dealers and which one you went with? I am planning to do the same thing soon for a 335i....

Congrats on your new 328i. We have a leased 2007 335i and love the car.
But our next one (lease up in March) will be a 328 (e91). We are on our 4th HPFP. The last one had a different part number and we've not had any issues for about a year. |
