OEM summer runflats in the Seattle area during winter
I'm wondering how many of you guys drive all year on the OEM run-flats in the Seattle area considering our recent cold winters? For my current car I switched to all-season Advan s.4's before the first winter and never took them off. But now I'm thinking that maybe I should save $$ and not replace the tires at all if I can get through the winter here on the summer potenzas (no snow driving of course).

In cold rainy weather I had no problems. In light snow I was still mobile, albeit slowly. In a full blast snow storm I was stuck. Just dont drive into a heavy storm and the stock RFT's are fine.

I'm very cautious. Temps below 35 and wet? Car stays home unless it is an emergency. Snowing, icing conditions or the threat of either? The car stays home and I take a different vehicle. Last winter when we had tons of snow? I think I drove the 335i for maybe 4 miles the whole month of December.... I do need to get new tires relatively soon, so I'm debating full-on extreme summer tires like RE-11's, PS2's or Star Specs or going with an all-season such as the Advans. Not really sure what I'm going to do yet.

i dont worry about tires during the winter in bellevue. if it is snowing like it was last year, i am taking the SUV
i just keep my performance tires and do great actually
