BMW Performance Suspension

Can anyone let me know if this is feasible on a car with tyres 235 front and 265 back? 19" wheels.

I know standard BMW is 225 front and 255 back for 19". I am afraid it will scratch inside. Thanks.

P.S. mine is a 320i E90.

look in the wheels section to compare your size, offset, tire with others. the offset is a key piece of info missing

is offset the size of the rims or something? I heard BMW is 8 front 9 back and i'm 8.5 front 9.5 back.

Hey Dee,
I'm running 19x9.5, 275/35, with an 25 ET offset. Your 265 will fit, but it's the offset of your wheel which is more important in whether or not you'll experience rubbing or not.

Educate yourself what is meant about offset and report back to us what is that number. It is important to know. 8 and 9 inch numbers are the width of the rim.

Mine was right on the edge of not needed. But I had the fender rolled anyways for safety sake and piece of mind ($80 last Sunday).

That's helpful. To complete the puzzle - your signature says you are running H&R spacers. Is that still true? If so we will need to know the sizes of those front & rear. Spacers impact your wheel offset.

i also want to ask, spacers at the back doesn't affect anything right? If I see like a 2 finger gap, then lowering the car by 1/2" wouldn't have any effect on scratching right? Because scratching only occurs for front because the wheels turn, whereas the back remains stationary. So as long as the gap is big enough then i dont need to worry for the rear right?

But for the front it depends on the offset right? so if my offset is 42 and not spacer, 19", 235 wide tires, does it seem like it fit the BMW Perf Suspension?

Well the 235 in the front is okay. As long as you follow the proper offset of the rim and proper profile on the tires... but I think your rim setup with slowdown your car by a lot...

With that setup you should have no issues at all, cause the ET of 42 is rather conservative.

thanks fellow members!

ET42 is conservative? I thought higher the number the worst it is (or easier to scratch)

nope, easy way to put it is that the lower the offset number is, the further out from the suspension it will stick. Hence your 15mm spacers would essentially make the offset of your wheel go from 42 to (42-15 = 27).
does that sound right? I'm a lil fuzzy headed today at work... lol

ok someone help me and let me get this straight.

so higher ET number is BAD. lower is GOOD. but by putting spacers reduces my ET so its good?

but the thing is I don't have spacers for the front, so would that mean its bad/risky?

Does anyone know the standard ET on 19" BMW rims?
