RFT Sensor & Steel Wheels e90-325 Sports Pkg
I have a set of tires and need some rims. are there aftermarket steel rims available for a 2006 325i , the snow tires I have are 205/55 R16 bridgesone lm-22 runflats. my summers are 17" sports package.
Is there a sensor on the bmw wheel that I would need to install for the winter tires? are the wheels special or not? I was told by a local tire store that I might be stuck having to buy BMW wheels as the car may not be compatable with the aftemarket if there is no sensor .. ie the flat tire warning will appear on the computer?

The wheels on the E90 don't use wireless sensors. They simply use the ABS/DTC sensors to detect changes in the tire dimensions. This is why it has to be set when you change air pressure or change tires. Get wheels that fit from a variety of sources and when you reset the setting, you will be ready to go.
