i have a Z4 35i without sport pkg (not sure if ext. trim is different for different models/packages) and i have black window trim. it is not a glossy black window trim, nor the smooth matte black window trim on my wife's 328i sport. rather its a gritty black plastic that i have noticed after i dry my car has a chalky look to it. unless the trim is wet, the trim never looks very black. kinda a faded black with a white/chalky substance on the trim.

has anyone else noticed this? if so, reco any cleaning products to keep the shine?? does waxing help?

A few washes maybe, the time varies depending on how often you wash or how often it rains. It's certainly not permanent. If you decide to try it, remember to follow the instructions closely - apply carefully and only use a very small amount. When applied correctly, the stuff is fantastic and really makes plastic look great. Not so much if you slap it on or use an excessive amount of product though.
