I know its not a BMW, but shows the potential
We'll be rolling roading my 335d and hopefully some more BMW's in the new year, but thought this may be of interest to some of you.
We do an awful lot with Vauxhall, and i personally think that the Fiat/GM JTD/CDTI 1.9 engines are one of the best on the market Anyway, the new Vauxhall Insignia and newly released Astra run a new Fiat/GM 2.0 engine that produces 160bhp and 260lbft/350nm as standard.. Weve just had an ecoflex version rolling roaded today: Run Number 1 was using our single map RED system, Run Number 2 was using our CRD2 Multimap system.. So using the highest figures of 211.9bhp and 342.2lbft/462nm of Torque thats a massive 32% improvement Now if we could see the same gains on my 335d, id be very happy |

Having run tuning boxes and remaps in the past (or both one on car) i must say that i always proved (on a rolling road) that the car produced more torque with a tuning box rather than a remap. I always put this down to the increased fuel pressure on the tuning box giving better combustion at low rpm. However i always felt that the remap gave more power top end.
I think these new generation tuning boxes really have a lot to offer and think the results will be very good - especially in the low down torque. Good luck!! |
