I have just changed my tyres to non-runflat Pilot Sports 3's and I am hearing more noise from the front that I used to. I used to hear the front bumper protection strip catching when coming down some steep carpark ramps, but now I seem to get the noise from the bumper, and possibly the wheel arches, on small speed bumps and uneven road surfaces.
Has anyone else noticed this? Are the non-rft a slightly different size and causing this problem? |

If you bought the same size tyres then there exactly the same size. What pressures are yourinnung?

They are like for like sizes from the original run flats.
27psi front - 225/40/ZR18 92Y 32psi rear - 255/35/ZR18 94Y I have used the pressure guide from the sill plate, should these change for non-rf? |

You're best to put the pressure up by about 4 psi for NON RFT IMO to start with. Maybe a bit more, I'd got for 35/40 in a tourer with the extra weight up back.
There should be no catching at all. Of course the new tyres are slightly larger due to new deep tread, but only say 6mm radius increase when going from 2mm worn to 8mm new. Go slower dowm the ramps!!! The non rfts will 'squash' more when hitting bumps / ramp bottoms etc, especially if you have the pressures a bit low. This may allow the bumper edge to contact if you go a bit quick down a ramp. |

I runj 37-40. Otherwise they sag any lower. (On 19") Wears inside fast enough anyhow. Let alone with low pressures.

Get it and you are not gonna regret it.
I love sports and stiff suspension, the M sports with runflats for meis the ideal one. I thought my suspension was a bit stiff, until i drove my bothers Cooper S with runflats. That thing becomes undrivable on sh*t roads.. So stiff and so tiring.. I believe that BMW achieved the optimum setup i our cars... |

335d SE Coupe 56 plate does it have 'M' or 'sports' suspension?
I recently purchased a 335d SE Coupe (56 plate), has the 19" star spoke and Bridgestone rfl, replacing them to non rfl soon.
This post suggests M comes standard, but I am having the M kit Bumpers and side skirt fitted in Jan., the dealer reckons I have standard suspension (without seeing the car granted). I am bit confused and with the hard ride on RFL's it is hard to tell, could I measure the tyre to wing clearance to find out? Thanks. |

It was only the very, very first batch of coupes that came with sports suspension.
By around mid september all coupes came with M-Sport suspension. www.realoem.com Put you vin number in there and you can see what suspension you have, compare the part numbers with an m-sport car. |
