BMW 318d 2009 ... should it have bluetooth as standard?
Hi
a friend of mine just bought a 2009 318d m sport and the dealer from where it was bought confirmed it has the s644a prep for mobile phone / bluetooth. it has no navigation. when we are trying to pair a mobile phone the menu in the stereo screen looks like disabled ..... do you think it has no bluetooth? regards |

The code for bluetooth prep is S0644 which sounds like it should have bluetooth.
There is also a bluetooth telephone connection listed at £70 - S06NF but I have no idea what that is - it certainly isn't the main bluetooth kit. Have you read the instruction manual for pairing phones and is the phone you want to use, on the BMW certified phone list? |

6NF is the bluetooth audio connection.
If it has bluetooth phone prep you ought to be able to pair the phone. Will take a bit of manual reading to figure out how though. TBH the dealer ought to have paired the 'phone as part of the handover.

If you can see a "PHONE" option on your radio you have bluetooth.
Just search for the car with your phone and it will find it, then add the car to the phone. |

Do as gizze says and use your phone to search for the car with the ignition on. |

What? So on top of the £535 odd for the kit, you also have to pay £70 for the phone to work?!

Bluetooth or Bluetooth with telematics (only for nav). No idea how to pair phones without idrive. Was really easy on my new car though and the engine did not have to be switched off as was the case with the older version. Time to read the manual or ask the dealer to help. |
