Question Just brought 335D Tips Please

Hi Guys,

Previously a e46 M3 Owner,

Just traded it in for a 2007 335D Coupe.

Wanted to know tips for:

1. Remap?? I am hearing evolve are pretty good at this.

2. Sound Upgrade??

I will look forward to your suggestions!

Re-map from DMS or Evolve will make the car quite considerably faster than your Old E46 M3.

Sound wise? there is an exhaust Hotcoupe had which sounded the nuts on his old one.

I personally wouldn't say a remapped 335d is "considerably" faster than an E46 M3, certainly not in my experience of the two cars.

Perhaps my 335 is hampered perhaps due to near bald rear tyres I don't know.

Well, in standard trim i easily hanged with M3's.

In tuned form I pulled away easily from M3's. Drag strip, road etc. M3 feels and sounds quicker thats all.

There is a BMW - Alpine retro fit upgrade. Tons of info on here about it.

I have had it done, cost (from a main dealer) was circa £450, do shop around as prices do vary from stealer to stealer. Personally, I was really pleased with the improvement.

I beg to differ, see the folowing video :
[u2b]
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KSwVGkjbshQ&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KSwVGkjbshQ&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>[/u2b]

If the above doesn't work see here :

We are on board with a 535d with a 350/500 remap, so slightly heavier than the 335d.

Rolling start fron 30mph onward

Have a search for here for Blaupunkt THA555 and Earthquake SWS-8

Fairly simple upgrades, and if you add tweeters you get a pretty good sound overall

My 535d in the movie and it do drive nicely. Cold not help laughing as I pulled away, probably a surprise for the M3 guy...

The M3 I raced against is not slow, probably one of the faster M3's I raced against. Here you can see it against a (bit crowded) tuned E39 M5 that is known to be really fast (Gustav on M5 Board's M5).

Imran at Evolve has a nice 335d that takes on E46 M3 CSL without problem so that car can be really fast...

Yeah most people now know the 335d with a map is somewhat quicker than an E46 M3!!

Have you seen any of my videos?

dxb, have you tested 0 - 200 km/h? Understand that this might not be the "normal" test on the Island but maybe you have tested? I'm a bit "overweight" with my 5-series but have done it in 16,8 s (Racelogic).
