Just normal driving really. When I got the car the first thing I did is run through some of that fuel injection cleaner which I think is always worthwhile, and also recently I did check tyre pressures and found 2 were 25psi. All correctly inflated now and that seems to be brought the average up a bit. Currently 40.3mpg, and working it out over a tank matches that figure.

I've just installed a Bluefin remap yesterday, so this average may change a bit, but so far doesn't seem to have done!

I forget the brand, but its in a red bottle (blue for petrol engines) and you can buy it from most supermarkets or Halfords. Might be Wynns. Always had good results from it!

Bluefin seems great so far - obviously with all the snow I've not been able to fully test it in the lower gears, but it feels more responsive which is a major plus for me - and acceleration in 4th/5th is very strong now on the motorway. Can't wait to hit some dry a-roads!

Oddly it's also resulted in smoother gear changes at low speed. I did find it could be difficult to do a smooth change at low speeds (fast changes at high speeds fine), but now its totally smooth at low speeds - maybe just my driving style, but it's not my imagination! I don't know if it's something to do with the improved throttle response meaning the revs match quicker as you put your foot on the accelerator after changing gear?

Overall would recommend. I like the way you can return the car to standard once you want to get rid, plus the Bluefin unit has some resale value, or you can just pay a bit extra and re-use it on your next car!

Sounds good Petem lets us know how you find it once the weather improves! Improved slow gear changes are spot on! Damn the CDV!!
