credit check

hey everyone, I got into some stupid stuff with BMW where they ended up messing up my credit pretty bad. they for some reason thought I didn't pay 6 months on my lease but they never sent me a notice and every time I called it said I was up to date. Long story short after about 3 weeks of calling them and trying to figure it out they realized it was their mistake and the removed the charges. unfortunately they had already reported it to my credit and it dropped drasticly. how can I check if my credit has been restored what's the best way to check my credit.
Thanks
~Adam

I use freecreditreport.com aka Experian, you can get all 3 bureau scores for like $27 or something like that. or you could also use myfico.com

ya I'm kinda sketch on the freecredit stuff that cost $27 haha. but I was also thinking if maybe my old boss could check it at the dealership. and I forgot to say, how long should I wait? this shit really fucked me over I was looking at a clean E46 M3 but I couldn't get it because my credit flopped. and now the car is gone. can I make BMW give me money or something for this?

go to experian, equifax or transunion and they will link you to all three bureaus, you don't pay for reports but pay for your scores. DO NOT go to freecreditreport.com or anything like that...

Experian owns freecreditreport.com, there's nothing shady about the site.

I have it and check my score periodically, but to each their own I guess.

i didn't mean it's shady... i meant they want you to register for other services in order to get your report for free, when it's free to begin with...

"Freecreditreport.com is not affiliated with the annual free credit report program. Under a new Federal law, you have the right to receive a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies."

equifax. pay $12/month to track credit.

As for the low credit, you can file a dispute on the report. Just provide the facts/proof and have BMW acknowledge, it can easily be fixed.

Im working my way into real estate so have been ontop of this shit for a while.

With that (annual credit report.com, the one that is linked to from the IRS helppage about this) you check all 3 credit services one time for free and you are done. No credit card or anything so you know there is no monthly fee.

I have posted this recently in this section of this forum. Guess I can't get too mad about not searching the Off Topic though.
