Rear seatbelt hidden behind seat

Hi All,

I picked up my e90 saloon yesterday and a passenger has just noticed that one of the seatbelts is trapped behind the seat.

The car hasn't got folding rear seats (ASFAIK) and I'm guess that the problem has come from when the delaer did the Alpine upgrade (do the rear seats need removing for this?).

Anyhow, does anyone know how I can release the belt? The seat will move a bit when I pull it, but I don't want to use too much force in case I break something!

Thanks for any advice!

Merry Christmans

I've managed to get it out, but the base, where the belt bolts into the chasis of the car isn't in the right place. Instead of coming out between the seat base and the seat back, it comes out of the side by the door.

I can't slide it round any more becuase there seems to be some kind of fixing in the way.

I just read that the seat base comes out easily? This might be the answer. So do I just grab the front edge and pull upwards? Again, worried I might break it!

Thanks!

Yup, treat it a bit like the clean and jerk! I think if you start gently and try progressivley more force you'll probably chicken out. A swift jerk up and it pops out of its restraint.

I fitted the alpine kit myself to my e92 using the instructions on this website, its pretty easy and i enjoyed dismantling the rear of the car! lol, don't think there is too much difference between e92/e90 rear seats.
