if you're a doctor, can't you spare a few bones on a carfax? not only that, but if the seller is a dealer or a truly motivated individual, they should gladly give you a free copy if you're truly interested in buying it. otherwise, you're just a shit kicker, and having sold a few cars myself, it's annoying. not trying to be an asshole, but having an unlimited carfax account when you're trying to buy a used car isn't a bad, cheap investment.

Just because I make a lot of money doesn't mean I'm not a cheap ass. I've had carfax in the past and run them for fellow forum members, I'm just posting to see if anyone will do the same. Like I said in the original post, if nobody offers up I'll buy one myself. Take a seat.

thats because people should be PM'ing the vins to eachother. anyone who posts a vin on the forum for everyone to see is bound to get caught sharing accounts.

VINs aren't private...they are in the ads for the cars...i don't see why PMing a VIN should be a red flag

it was?... he posted something like this I replied saying I'd do it and he said PM sent I got it for him and I got in trouble by a mod... haha whatever this was like a year ago

What I meant was if someone post the vin on a forum asking for a free check, all carfax has to do is wait for that vin to get checked by someone and they will know you are running vins for other people. This is why the vin should be kept private so carfax reps have no clue what vins are being checked for someone other then yourself.
