I've been reading this page interested that I might be able to update my firmware myself, rather than having to visit a dealer. However most of the links seem to point to e46 satnav, rather than the iDrive as fitted to my e92.

I was wondering if anyone has used this method of firmware update on their iDrive, and if so was it easy, did you encounter any problems etc etc..
