Painting interior trim...

I want to paint (not me but good shop of course) my interior poplar wood trim into something more simple...like piano black .

Ist this doable?
And can anyone recomend great shop for doing this .

If you want piano black, I would suggest buying it from Tischer. Painting it might be cheaper but I'm pretty sure the trim will start chipping later on.

what is involved in replacing the interior trim? Remove the dash? Door? Console? Is it an overlay?

It can but should not be done. I believe, there is a piano black trim available - to buy and install it would look much cleaner. BTW, have you consider carbon fiber trim?

Actually, there are a few forum members that have either painted the trim themselves, or have had shops do it. I know a guy on here who had his painted Piano Black and it looks completely OEM, great gloss and shine. So it's definitely doable.

If it's a QUALITY paint job with clear coat and sanding out the orange peel, then it should look great. If it's just some rattle can job, then yes it will look like ass.
