Your estimate of 4k is extremely off.
Think more in the ball park of 9-14k for damage like that. Your suspension looks compromised to shit

That sucks. I recently had a major accident and my car was totaled. I see you are in Houston. Try Metropolitan Collision center. They are very honest and do a lot of luxury cars. I had my car taken to them after the accident and they batted on my side to total the car as the structural damage was extensive.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been on vacation. I towed it yesterday morning to the BMW collision center and I was given a quote of 10k. I have a joint-title on the car and the other owner, in my family, decided to file an insurance claim without my knowledge, later finding out that they wouldn't be able to cover it. There goes my rates...
When I get back in town tomorrow I'm going to bring my SLR camera to the collision center for some better pictures and I'm going to ask more specific questions about the damage. Quote:
Ouch...did they make you replace the hood? Quote:

A construction cone?? If someone else hit it I would think insurance would cover some of it. Very unfortunate, any pics? Let me know when you finally get it fixed. In respect to driving over a pothole in my 100k mile tahoe, I did not feel a thing. When going over the curb I rose out of my seat a bit but it felt like I was taking a 'jump-sit' onto my bed. Usually if the repairs total more than about 70% of the replacement cost, which I assume might be the case, the insurance will total the vehicle.
If not, good luck with the repairs. |
