However, once the car has been driven on the street, the SES light never comes on from 20-65% settings (for the duration of 1 trip obviously, since cold start will trigger eventually).

What do you guys think is wrong with my car? Was the O2 sensor damaged during install? But if it did, it would always fail, right? Not trigger randomly only on cold starts?

Running a recent ISTA from 2 months ago, Catless DP on stock exhaust. I have a pretty unique config since I'm on stock exhaust, but I did try a less aggressive setting, in 5% intervals to as high as 65%.

Just to help those of us still experimenting. Until you fine tune the right %, you guys trigger O2 codes on cold start right? Not during daily driving?

I've tried everything from 20% to 85% and back down again and haven't been able to get the cold start O2 codes to go away. No codes thrown during regular driving (never got past one day cuz the cold start always gets me).

Do I have a bad O2 sensor? I am DME80 on a very recent ISTA (Sep 09) program, but I believe I had the same issue on pre-29.2 as well (I had Rev 1 back then).

When I went down to 20%, it seems to trigger on cold start more often. Today, I put on 85% for the heck of it (I already made my way back up from 20% to 85% lol). I suppose I can try 15%, but the point is, there is no gradual improvement as I go through the %s. No matter what setting, always trigger on cold start. So it's not like I'm seeing an improvement as I go through the ranges.

If anyone has technical knowledge on how the O2 sensors work, please chime in. Cuz if I have a bad O2 sensor, it should trigger while driving, not just during cold start, right? Thanks!

it's weird how our cars can differ so much. My car is just like yours (dme80 with a very recent program update) and I had no issues at all at 30%

Shiv, I am doing exactly as you said. Tried 40, 35, 30, 25, currently testing 20. The 2c32 is a killer.

2c32 is a lambda probe in front of cat 2, trimming control. This means the o2 sim is too strong. So you will have to reduce the value, not increase it.

Shiv
If the probe in front is triggering the value should be lower? and vice versa?, interesting...

This code spells DOOM

P2098 - Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 2

I've spend $410 on two O2 sensors and over $300 in labor to get my damn O2 sensors fixed and it's still not fixed at a really good BMW repair shop. They're going to try to reinstall the software to see if it does anything. Their computer is indicating all my sensors are working. Car has 3K miles.

IT has nothing to do with REV II. This comes on after a 1/2 mile drive every time with or w/o REV II.

First they replaced the PreCat sensors as indicated by their computer and it didn't do a thing. Then we tried replacing the rears and experimented with swapping the fronts and still can't get it working. It's been a nightmare. Car is stock now to remove all contributing factors and only mods are DP's. Shop hasn't called me back yet. I think they want to give up.

Little update.

15 / 10% didnt work, so I raised modifier to 100% and drove 45 miles and got the 2 cat inefficiency codes.

I will drop the 02 modifier to 80% and will keep trying 5% lower each time.

will update accordingly, thanks for the help everyone & shiv.

Go systematically. I suspect one of the problems you were having is that you were jumping in too big of steps. Once you verified that setting it too high triggers only the two cat inefficiency codes, just lower in 5% increments until they dont come back (after being cleared). If you start triggering other codes, you went too far (too low).
