AST Suspension is well known around the world for their race winning suspension technology and quality rivaled by few. We have harnessed this race inspired technology into a STETT spec'd street setup. This kit is designed to be used with OEM mounts to help retain comfort.

The 4100 series monotube shock absorber features:
-12 way single adjustable
-Massive 22mm shafts
-Floating pistons with high pressure nitrogen (no cavitation around the piston)
-Fully threaded shock bodies for added tire clearance
-Permanently mounted adjuster knobs (no searching for tools)
-Steel body (stronger than aluminum) NON inverted
-KTL finishing process that is far more corrosion resistant and stronger than even powder coating.

Performance

AST shocks are monotube design for a reason; they perform better. When will you notice this? Big bumps in turns and fast transitions on the track / autocross course are where true premium shock performance becomes evident. Ride in or drive any car with this level of shock and you’ll know instantly why people buy them, they make the difference. Other non-monotube designs on the market exist for two reasons: comfort and cheaper manfacturing expense. These are two things can do without when time on the track counts!

Piston Size

AST's monotube design translates into a bigger piston. When you put AST shocks on your car, you know that those big pistons can handle much larger loads. This translates directly into the ability to fine tune your shock. Other shocks that use twin tubes have much smaller pistons; and that means less ability to handle performance loads and less flexibility when it comes to adjustments.

Pressurization

All of our shocks are pressurized to a minimum of 175 psi with nitrogen. High pressurization keeps the oil from cavitating around the AST piston. Cavitation makes the shock ineffective, pressurization makes a consistent environment for the shock to do its job correctly with every stroke. Other lesser products (and even some more expensive ones) say they are pressurized, but they may be only
14 -29 psi - not something you need on your mind when approaching the next curve.

From what I have read, these are great. I would be interested in these, but I think the performance is going to be too track oriented. I do not track my car, and feel they might be too rough for me. Bummer....

Actually, the AST suspension does provide better comfort than the sports suspension in the 335i

especially when you are going through humps

I am not sure where the track oriented impression comes from. They are very versatile. STETT can also customize the springs to meet your needs. I don't think you will find a better coilover setup on the market for this price.

Actually, that's the purpose of this setup. It's taking race inspired technology and putting it into a streetable combo. The springs are 500 in the front and 600 in the rear, a GREAT setup for this car on the street. Plus, you would be using your stock mounts which will help retain a comfortable feel.

Yes this kit is with springs, it's a complete ready to bolt on kit.
