Just take it to best buy... I did it here in Madison and it was not only cheap but easy for them... took about an hour.
FYI did you get the harness/s for the parrot? There is one for the radio and another one for the steering wheel controls. If you haven't yet then go to HFVT.com, send them an email/contact us thing and tell them your year/make/model and what parrot product you have and ask what harnesses you'll need and they'll fix you up, I think I paid about $50 for the radio one (this is so you can have it uninstalled or else the installer has to cut and hard wire stuff and it gets sloppy). The steering wheel one isn't necessary, I didn't get it, but it might be nice to have, sometimes I wish I had it so I could hide the ugly ass display of my CK3100 and just press the phone button on the wheel to answer. Lemme know if you need any help with anything related to this too... I'm always around. -Badger |

I have been thinking about getting the parrot MKi9100 and all the required harness.
I'm thinking about taking it to best buy and have them install it for me. But before that I have couple questions. 1) After the installation will i be able to keep all of the current factory devices that I have working. (i have one disc cd player and satellite radio) . 2) I dont understand where the parrot MKI9100 display would sit after installation. Will there be holes on the dash for some connector to be out for me to plug in the display unit ? 3) since it had an external mic piece, will there be wires hanging ? Thanks in advance.. |

Your blue box can be placed behind HVAC controls.
Microphone will be near your rear view mirror and the wire won't be visible.... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49942 refer to above diy for pictures. I am not sure regarding your xm radio. good luck |

Hi,
I have the parrot MKi9100 installed on my '07 328XI. Everything seems fine but My satellite radio and factory aux input does not work anymore. I used the harness from this site.. http://www.safewireless.com/hands-fr...bmwf-p-18.html I see the satellite radio mode in the list but I can't select it. As far as factory aux input goes, I can get to the mode but there's no output from the speakers. If i plug the car connector to the radio bypassing the new harness and parrot box, they start functioning again. I guess I can live without the factory aux input as mki9100 has an that covered but it would be really nice if i can get back my satellite radio back. Do you guys know what is wrong here? Thanks |

yeah i would. also you said before you got your harness from safe wireless but I would use HFVT.com and Email the owner (VERY nice and helpful) and ask him about all of this.
and yes, with Best Buy you are probably a bit more 'covered' with the install than a non A/V shop. plus they uninstall for free before you go to sell your car. |

One of my friends is guessing that my installed did not move the fiber optics cable from the original connector to the harness. I'll try telling that to my installer. Hopefully that work. I also wrote to HFVT.com asking for suggestions.
As a last resort, I'm still holding on to my best buy appointment which is 15 days from now (it was a month from when i call them to enquire). Thanks very much for the suggestions. |
