Trim panel fixing...

Does anyone have any experience replacing the exterior modeling trim on a 2006 E90 Monaco Blue BMW? I'm referring to the piece of plastic modeling that runs along the bottom of the car (passenger side door's) under neath both doors on a 4-door between the two wheels. How would I order a new one and I assume it is an easy DIY install? I unfortunately ruffed mine up in the snow backing out of someone's narrow drive way with this stupid mini brick wall. I love the low profile car, but wished I could put her away during the winter and drive an SUV.

Are you talking about the ext kick panel. If it is only deep scratches, you might just want to take it out and have it repainted. It does not look as if it is hard to remove. Look like and L shape piece and there are some clips and screws to hold it in place. I have never taken it out but I think the longtran have taken it out before. I remember seeing some of his diy where that piece is removed.

Thanks and yes that is the piece I'm talking about. The center of it is slightly bowed now too. Nothing major but not flush to the line of the car like it should be. Given it is plastic, I'm not sure how well it will fix. That is a good idea however. If you replace them, do you know if you can order them in the color of your car?
