E90 HID Foglight DIY?
I FINALLY received my MTEC HID fogs, and am looking all over for the DIY guides. Unfortunately i can only come up with E92 guides. Does anyone know if its the same, or is the E90 different? One DIY said that they E90 is slightly different, one said it is completely different. I apologize if there is a link i missed, but i have been searching for 2 hours... Any help is MUCH appreciated. And yes, i did search, and read through the first 10 DIY pages to try and find one.

I did my hid fogs last week and today had to redo them cause one of the bulbs was different color. Im gonna tell you straight up. Its gonna be pain in the ass mounting those ballasts. Not enough room to fit both hands inside and tighten up the bolts that hold the ballasts. Keep in mind that while you doing that you cant even look inside cause you body is rotated in such a way that you cant look inside. Also a screw driver and a wrench isnt that easy to fit at the same time to tighten up the bolt. I almost ripped out the plastic cover from frustration. If you can get some1 to help you it would be easier for you. They can hold the wrench/ratchet while you use screwdriver to tie up the bolts Here you go. Shows you which bolts to take out to get inside the bumper. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=lci The kit is plug and play so you should not have any problems with that. Just mounting those ballasts. Here are few pics i took of passenger's side. Turn the wheel out, and push the cover taward the tire and kind push it into the tire so the tire holds that cover. Ull see in the pic. http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/8108/dsc01442u.jpg Here you can see the ballast and how i mounted it. There is a hole right over the ballast u can mount it in there but thats you headlight tho The spot i used is just like in the pic here http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2707/...4a1bdf69_o.jpg I Had to unclip the wire and use that hole cause there wasnt anything else to mount the ballast to. (The drivers side has two spots to mount so you can pick which ever you like. ) http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/8671/dsc01440j.jpg and 1 more pic. http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/2543/dsc01441y.jpg If you have any questions shoot away.

Rambalu80 - Thank you for the link. Its for an E92, so i hope its pretty much the same.
Ownage - You are a savior! I really appreciate the detailed response! I heard taking the bumper off isnt that hard, and it will help a ton...What do you think of that? I am going to be doing it alone, as everyone is at work tomorrow and i wanna get it done...Hopefully ill finish before i destroy the car...haha |

if I were to do it all over again i would def. take the bumper of. I just didn't know how. Taking that cover off completely would make a ton of difference too. You won't need to get the bumper off. 5 min work. turn the wheel out, take those 9 bolts out and band the cover. You'll see the holes. Try to attach the ballast. if its too hard then go for the bumper. WHo knows may be it will be easier for you.
