BMW Performance Steering Wheel (Electronic)
What are you guys paying to get your BMW Performance Steering Wheel (Electronic) installed from the dealership?
Best quote I got was 3 hours - one to install, and 2 to program? |

Has anyone had to have their car software updated for this steering wheel? I believe I am still on the old MS81 or whatever it was. Evan @ Tischer says I shouldn't need an update and I pulled the below out of the install document - but my local dealerships are telling me it may be necessary.
I looked over the instructions Evan sent me - I do see where it says: This retrofit system does not require coding. - Connect the battery - Conduct a brief test - Conduct a function test - Re-fit the car components as required - Making basic settings Just trying to make sure ![]() |

The reason why BMW dealerships are trying to charge me for 'programming' is because they are saying the SZL needs to be programmed. Scott, a member of this forum who works at a BMW dealership, told me that any cars equipped with the sport package will not need the new SZL programmed.
If anyone has any input, feel free. |

I had it installed at a independent shop, no need for programming.
