First things first.
Wipe that puppy to get all the proprietary crap off it, and then reinstall the OS fresh. :P

Returning my Dell. What a peace of sht. It started running slower on the 3rd day. When i called it in they said it was my verizon Fios connection, my 6 yr old dell laptop worked at the same speed.
Anyways im getting my money back and looking for a new one. Are all Dell shitty now? Im going to use Tigerdirect.com and Newegg.com a lot of people told me those sites. Need to find something under $750.00 with 4gb , W7, Dual Core or +, Cd/DVD burner, and i watch my soccer games online most of the time (Vostro laptop i had only had 1 speaker) and i might load Reason 4 ( music producer program). I appreciate all the help. |

I think this is pretty solid- Lenovo SL 410
There are also the Y450 (multimedia laptop) and the T400 (a higher end business grade laptop than the SL series) that could be had for about $600 and $800, respectively. There are also Sony Vaio laptops at best buy that have the specs you're looking for in the $600 range (not including tax). |

Macs FTW. I built my desktop for cost reasons so it is a PC and I use AVG for antivirus, pretty good IMO and free.

My suggestion for you? Save up another $250 or so and buy the Sony Vaio with i5 processor, 4gb ram, nVidia GT 330M at Best Buy for $950. That would give you everything you need- small & light laptop with serious computing power. I think it comes with an LED screen with 1600x900 resolution in case you need it. |
