You guys need to lay off AMS and the production rate of their product. To everyone who is complaining sounds like a 7 year old around christmas who wants their presents weeks early. Get a grip. I would rather they take longer and get it correct then fabricate something and rush it out without enough R&D which is the most IMPORTANT aspect of a turbo kit especially when you have a 15k engine on the line. Grow up.

I was merely asking a question to AMS and anyone else involved in the process. If you have nothing good to offer to this thread then just STFU.

Yes, I read that and appreciated your answer. I was basically addressing all the people ripping the project apart since it hasn't come out fast enough.

Oh I know - just getting back to a more positive note. Air Tran is a great airline!!!!

I am in flight as I type this on my way into Vegas to finish the last day and meet up with Eric@AMS.

I spent about 45 minutes with Chris@AMS (the tuner) going over A LOT of things. Lets just say both of us are very pleased.

Developing the right turbos could take some time but I am looking forward to what comes out the market next. AMS does some truly remarkable design and development so it might take longer than expected.

When you make a product that increases the power significantly of a car and leave the tuning, driving and everything else in the hands of some dbag driver, you ARE GOING TO HAVE COMPLAINTS. Its unavoidable. Now, to produce something as risky as turbo upgrades, yet still have as clean of a record as they do, minus the random dbag here or there, then I applaud them. I'm sure you can find many more happy people than unhappy people. And I also can guarantee that if they could provide the best product they can, then they will. And when you go starting crap like this in forums undermining there company, don't expect them to have good CS to offer you. Don't retort here, complain to the agreement you likely make when purchasing these products. Off-road use only, there is a reason for this.
Owning a STi has nothing to do with poor customer service at Forced Performance and that is a fact. I actually like their product very much, especially their HTA line, more specifically their HTA 35r. However their customer service or the lack of response is something worthy filing a complaint about. The focus here is their service, the support, the part that comes after the completion of purchase, which is quite important when something goes wrong because mistakes are unavoidable (which you have already agreed to). However FP have chose to abandon their market share on subarus when few of their customers brought their service problem into light, if we, the BMW crowd made the same attemps, I sincerely hope it would be resolved differently.

I suppose I will have to deal with them personally in order to make any further judgments.

So everyone is up to speed we have a set of upgraded turbo's on the car that are not from FP. We sourced these so we could do a true same car comparison as we felt there is a lack of scientific data surrounding a lot of BMW products.

I am confident the FP's will do very well and we stand behind their work otherwise we would not of partnered up with them for this project.

The FP turbos are ready and while we wait for them to get here we are putting a meth kit on my car so we can check peak numbers on both sets.

Jake, thank you for stopping in to post. Not sure how i missed this thread

Do you guys know how many projects they have going on at that shop at once? In the past year, they have been working on numerous huge Evo builds, plus starting crazy upgrades on multiple GT-R's, the new Hyundai Genesis coupe, and now the BMW's. You all act like it's easy for a relatively small tuning company to bang out new products every month. This isn't Dinan or HKS that have dozens of engineers to devote all their time to a certain project. Give them some time and I'm positive they will come out with an amazing product.

Don't take on more than you can chew...

If they don't have time yet to work on our cars then stop giving us these "probable" updates and just show us things that have been designed, tested, and in the production phase.

They can have all the time in the world. but dont give us updates that the turbos are on the car and it is going on the dyno asap and then say nothing for months.

haha, which is right after Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3

I wonder/worry that AMS might have kinda pushed the N54 to the back burner a bit since the car has reliability and fueling issues. It isn't as "easy" to upgrade past the typical bolt-ons and tunes that are already out there using stock engine/turbos/housings. With a solid fuel system upgrade and a reliable HFPF maybe this platform would go much faster and smoother into the aftermarket turbo game.
