there's one MAJOR thing here that i haven't seen anyone mention in this whole thread.
Weight!!!!! Look up how much your maxima weighed, they are deceptively lighter than you might guess. The difference of 3-400lbs may be (and probably is) what you're noticing.

Coming from a fast car to a 335i stock will, can disappoint.
Had two supras one stock and one BPU both felt faster. Stock vs stock, supra had the kick in the pants and on the FRWY felt fast. The 335i is quite and no kick but builds speed in a refined way and sometimes fells fast but somewhat inconsistent but if you didn't drive the supra right you hit dead spots too. BPU Supra 6MT, Intake, DP, Full Exhaust, Pully, Boost Control on 93 otc.vs 335i/6MT JB+ on 91 oct, not a good comparison but I can tell you just the JB+ really makes you realize the potential is definitely there. I get a sense with a good tune (love the JB+ but its just a starter kit), intake, DP, exhaust this thing will run strong and I can fit the family in the rear seats comfortably. A good tune with mods will erase all your doubts, I hope because I feel like you. |
