OEM airbox / intake question
Hi,
I'm looking for a better intake than stock for quite some time resulting in finding some drawbacks for each of them . So my question is: Is the OEM airbox with a High Performance drop-in filter ( I use Helene Performance ) still the best option for a tuned car providing up to 16 PSI sustained boost ? Looking forward to your opinions. Cheers, Eugen |

you're going to get a wide variety of answers from
many different camps. - DCI folks say the extra flow is more important than the warmer temps(that's why we have a fmic) - airbox folks say otherwise. hotrod said he ran faster times with the stock airbox, but I haven't seen any other people conduct the same tests to really support the idea. plus his cars are freaks CAI folks have had good success (see former boosted's comparison thread) the best testing will be on-road results since almost no dyno will provide sufficient airflow... so until multiple people do many comparison tests on road... we'll never know what is "best". I personally have had fine success with my DC's. maybe someday I'll test out the stett |
