there is no final date set yet. It could be a month or more. It is up to Terry to decide. Still working on some tweaks and getting feedback. You can get one now and if you want to be a beta tester you would need to buy the USB cable and a chip burner plus have a laptop to do data logging. The 1.4 works great as it is. I run it still. I have had very little time to do anything with the 2.0. I am local to you and can help you out when you want to buy. Just give me a call if you want.

When the 2.0 is publicly released, will it still be $350/580 plus the cost of the cable? Or will the cable come with it?

Is it a mini USB cable? Micro USB cable? Proprietary cable?

Thanks!

It's a proprietary cable that will cost $35 extra, only required for those who want to use the laptop interface.

You need to email Terry at BMS to ask him and purchase the USB cable that will allow you to hook the Jb3 up to the laptop and run the software.

Do you have a JB3?

Also all JB3's come with GEN 3 boards in case anyone is confused on that.

Yes we are shipping with the latest hardware which is the 2.0 hardware Once 2.0 is released all you will need is to upgrade the software and get the optional cable if you so choose.

Go over to N54tech.com and look out for the next beta expansion.
Also, In order to be a beta tester you NEED to have a BT cable

so the 2.0 are now going with the new jb3 purchases right? anyone has a link to where i can research more about the different map settings and their levels as far as boost, power, etc. I ask because I know there's a few different jb tune out there and they all feature different levels of power for different pricing. What if I'm only looking for a specific amount of power so it would be pointless to buy JB3 because even if has a lot more power, I wont be using it.

Sorry for the questions.

2.0 is still in Beta testing unless you ask to be a tester. Current version is 1.4

I went to the site already many times reading on it. JB3 is the newest version right? meaning its the most expensive and that it offers the highest possible power gain. It does have map settings up to 7. Here is my question:

For each of those mapping, what is the power level and boost level of each? What does each mapping also change?

I ask because I know people are running different settings. In my case and I'm sure with everyone else, they wont buy JB3 and run just the highest setting because thats whats its capable of. To better help, here is what I am planning on doing with the car as far as engine mods:

Tune and intake thats it. So of course its not gonna be a good idea to run the most aggressive mapping because my car will not be supporting those mods. So my main concern is that lets say I can use mapping 3 at most. Is that equivalent power range as a JB+. 2 products with same pricing. I just dont wanna be spending more than I need to in order to reach the goals I want for this car.

Hope that clarifies some things. Any help would be appreciated as i am planning on picking up a tune asap.

Map switching directions:

Insert keyfob and press start button to turn ignition on (lights on dash, but engine not running). Press and hold the gas pedal down to the floor for 4 or more seconds, and then release pedal. This puts the JB3 in to listen mode. If you start the engine at this point you will be on map 0. For performance maps press the gas pedal to the floor and quickly release one time for each map you would like to select. For example for map 3 press and release the gas 3 times, and start the engine. Your map setting will be saved until changed. If you forget what map you are on, turn engine off and reset the map selection. With new installs or when burning a chip map 3 is always selected by default. So you only need to pay attention to this guide if you would like to disable the JB3 or change maps.

JB3 1.4 Map Guide

Map 0:
-- Disables JB3, all signals pass through

Map 1:
-- Low boost map, boost levels of 11-13psi depending on mods and weather
-- Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc
-- 91 octane RM2 or higher required. The higher the octane, the more power.

Map 2:
-- Performance map, boost levels of 12-14psi depending on mods and weather
-- Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc
-- 91 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.

Map 3:
-- Identical to map 2 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

Map 4:
-- Hotter Performance map, boost levels of 13-15psi depending on mods
and weather
-- Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc
-- 93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.

Map 5:
-- Identical to map 4 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

Map 6:
-- Designed to optimize bolt on performance
-- 93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
-- Richer midrange air/fuel ratios to sustain additional torque
-- May trigger hidden tuner detection codes. Purchase a Bavarian
Technic cable from BMS to scan for and delete any hidden codes before service.

Map 7:
-- Identical to map 6 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

Map 8:
-- Race map
-- 97 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
-- Modifications like intake, downpipes, and intercooler strongly suggested
-- Lagfix enabled
-- May trigger tuner detection codes

Map 9:
-- More aggressive race map
-- 100 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
-- Intake, downpipes, and intercooler required
-- Lagfix enabled
-- May trigger tuner detection codes

Map 10-14 (A-D):
-- For use with modified JB3 boards only

Map 15 (F):
-- For use with tuning gauge only

Tuning gauge parameters for those of you with the tuning gauge. Remember these settings only take effect when you are on map 15(F).

LB: Base boost level. Note: Map 6 is set to 11.
HP: Additional boost above 4500rpm. Added on top of LB. Note: Map 7 is set to 5.
AF: Air/fuel ratio. 0=stock levels, F=max rich. Note: Maps 6+ are set to F, 1-5 are set to 1.
PD: Pedal Input / Boost Gain. Higher = faster boost build up, more chance for overshoot. Note: All maps set to 6.
SD: Solenoid prespool (lagfix). Higher = more prespool, more chance for overshoot. Note: Map 7 is set to 6, map 6 set to 0.
AD: Air intake temperature boost decay. Higher = more decay. Note: Map 7 is set to 8. Race maps set to 0.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you think you are only going to tune, then JB+. if your not 10k% sure, get JB3

also just FYI. JB+ at the MAXIMUM setting is less than the JB3 at the MINIMUM setting.
