Clanking when switching gears
I drive an A/T 325i and when I put the car into a different gear, say from D[rive] to R[everse], I usually hear a "clank" like some kind of metal plates making contact with each other.
Should I take the car to the dealer and can this be fixed? |

Has it always done this? If this sound is new, I would suspect a problem.
BTW, I had a problem with the Universal at the rear Diff. It wasn't lubricated correctly during the build, and there was a clunk now when going from forward to reverse or back (I have a manual - but the problem is the same irrespective of transmission). There's a TSB and revised 'parts pack' on this. Considering you have the same year and model, it might be the same thing. Last edited by AlanAZ; 01-24-2010 at 07:07 PM.. Reason: mo info |

My car doesnt feel "solid" as some people would say. I always hear some sort of rattling/clank noise inside or outside the car. It just feels like there are to many loose pieces in the car
